We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 and 7 Territories in Alberta of the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.

Pioneer Camp Lodge, Sundre

 

Pioneer Camp Lodge is located 16 km southwest of Sundre, overlooking the Red Deer River Valley with a fantastic view of the Rockies!

The central Lodge has a large dining room, kitchen and meeting areas. Nikki’s Chalet, an additional meeting area, is a one minute walk down the hill from the Lodge. Guests either stay in dorm or twin rooms in the main Lodge or in heated cabins with twin or bunk-beds. Cabins are one large room on the main floor, with an overhead loft. The cabins are winterized, insulated, heated by gas and have electricity.

Rentals are available from September to June. Our total capacity is 116 people.

Each Site at Pioneer Camp operates a camp store called a Tuck Shop, where guests can purchase candy and pop, as well as camp t-shirts, hoodies, baseball caps, toques, water bottles, journals, etc. Clothing prices range from $15-$25 for t-shirts to about $45 for hoodies.

Pioneer Camp Ranch, Rocky Mountain House

 

Pioneer Camp Ranch is located on Crimson Lake, 16 km northwest of Rocky Mountain House. Guests stay in cozy cabins along the shores of the lake.

The central Ranch House has a large dining room, kitchen, and two meeting areas. The North Lodge, an additional meeting area, is located next to the Ranch House.Guests stay in cabins with bunk beds. Most cabins are one large room with bunks along the walls. Winterized cabins are insulated and heated with gas stoves. Summer cabins are insulated and heated with a wood stove. All cabins have electricity.

 
Rentals are available from September to June. Our capacity is 160 people (depending on programming requirements).

*The availability of the Staff Cabins varies according to Pioneer’s staffing needs. They are fully or almost fully available September through April, and partially available in May and June.

  • Large stalls and arenas for lessons and programming involving our herd (games, teaching times, etc.)
  • Greenspace abounds for grazing and working with the horses.

  • Discover the natural beauty that abounds at Pioneer Ranch from horseback.
